After stumbling upon this website showcasing the works of design firm Studio O+A, I am so going to make myself get hired by Facebook to work in their headquarters in the future *drools* I wouldn’t say that it looks as awesome as Google HQ, but it aint’ half bad! Leave Me is a four-minute short film produced by Daros Films, a Tulsa-based independent film company founded by Ryan Dunlap (@dunlap).
Who says shorts are, well, too short to evoke any emotional attachment among the audience? Leave Me is a perfect example of a short done perfectly, artistically, beautifully and soulfully. Leave Me tells a sad tale of a widower finally finding solace in photos found in his wife’s (Amy’s) camera.
Prewedding Film “IMAGINE” is an amazing prewedding film made by renowned videographer and director Santo (Susanto Widjaja) from Paper Cranes Production. The short film recently won two Australian awards – speaks volume of how impactful and beautiful a piece of artwork it is.
Today morning residents of Sydney, Australia reported a strange weather phenomenon – the entire city was blanketed in a deep red haze which later haded to orange and then to yellow by 7.30am. Nonetheless, it’s still pretty fascinating and yet creepy at the same time – the red haze made Sydney look like a Martian town or a city in the end of days. Oh, and you might want to check out this photo gallery of the red haze caused by a massive dust storm as speculated by experts.
Dainis over at 1st Web Designer compiled a list of 35 elegantly designed, flexible and stylish Wordpress plugins built on jQuery UI. Some of the plugins may actually be very helpful and many improve the user experience on your site, such as the jQuery pagebar, a highly coveted feature once exclusively found in the Wordpress K2 theme.
Dainis from 1st Web Designer compiled a list of 65 popular and professional free fonts that you will find very useful for creative typography. He actually did compile a widly popular list of 52 free fonts back then, driven by popular demand he released another free fonts collection. While the fonts are absolutely free for personal use, do check the license released alongside with each single font you have downloaded if you are using them for commercial purposes (e.g. using them in a project that you will get paid for).
As jQuery becomes an increasingly popular choice among designers due to its ease of use and the wide spectrum of jQuery plugins available, more and more tutorials, tips and tricks related to jQuery are made available on the Internet today. Speckyboy recently ran an article featuring an impressive collection of 25 jQuery plugins and tutorials. A great read that will make life a lot easier – included in the collection are jQuery-powered sliders, tool-tips and more. They are rather new, published within the past six weeks, so there’s a high chance that you’ve not seen them before.
