A few nights ago my parents called me, and expressed their concern of their baby boy not getting enough sleep because they caught me publishing the previous post at 1.19am. I’m touched, because nowadays not all parents go to such lengths to know their children’s lives inside out. It’s still a little unnerving that my parents will be checking this blog on a regular basis, so I shall take it as parental guidance on blogging etiquette! No more cursing and waving that cyber middle finger :) I shall be nice!

For the past few weeks, my orientation groupmates and I were busy exploring the university campus and combing high and low for good food :) and yes we did find some really great food!

We went to McDonalds for supper! From left, Huilin, Pow, Yongzhen, CJ, Bing, Dezien and Yicheng.

Supper @ McDonalds - That’s the night when I fell victim to a series of crude jokes :D it’s an inside story so I don’t wish to share the details here, but basically it’s friendly teasing and I really don’t mind that at all. I don’t react violently to teasing or jokes, because I believe they are one of the many ways to keep everyone entertained and happy. Huilin was stealing my 7up drink for the night but I decided that I should live up to my personal motto of Sharing is Caring.

On another McDonald trip - Pow and I for this time! Private roomies mealtime!

McDonalds with my roomie Pow! - On another night, Pow and I decided to drop by McDonalds for supper because we were starving and were equally sick of eating cereal and drinking hot chocolate every night. We up-sized our meal partially because we wanted to collect the Olympic Games cups :) lol! Pow and I were both big fans of McDonald’s french fries (and NO, I’m not paid to write this comment!) - they go best with sweet chili or garlic sauce! Mmmph, that’s divine!

Japanese tempura udon noodles - Being a big fan of Japanese cuisine, I never let go any chance of savouring the dishes from every single Japanese stalls across the campus. So far, I feel that the one at the Students Activities Centre has the best udon while the one in my hall canteen serves the best bentō set! We had lunch at the Students Activities Centre the other day and I never regretted ordering that tempura udon meal whose price tag is a mere S$4.50. Imagine having not one, but THREE big fat juicy tempura at the mercy of your stomach for that price. Plus a huge bowl of udon noodles. I bought a bottle of Snapper on the checkout counter… loved it to bits!

Juicy and extremely filling popiah from a shop near my college.

Juicy and extremely filling popiah from a shop near my college.

Popiah! - Popiah is a Hokkien/Chaozhou-style fresh spring roll common in Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. A small little cafe called My Cozy Corner found comfortably tucked in a shopping mall (if you really want to know, it’s Coronation Plaza) near my college serves one of the best popiahs in town! It was even featured in food magazines because of the fantastic popiah it serves.

So that’s all for today! Will be blogging about a photoshoot soon. Stay tuned!

    Hey Teddy!!!

Haven’t heard from you for ages! I hope you are well. I’m doing really great, meant to pop by here and see how you are, but been so busy lately, as you may have noticed by my lack of updates. I hope you are well !

Love the photos btw, and I like the way you stylized the way that I add tags under my photos into those chique grey boxes.

    Hope you well.
    Insh’alla,
    Dakota

Hey Dakota, long time no see! I hope you’re doing fine too! We’ve almost lost touch with each other after I got busy with life… well I shall not let this happen *hooks pinkies* sorry to hear that you’ve left jedakota.com and returned to your old Wordpress blog. But no matter what happens, I’ll support your decision!

Actually the photo captions is a new feature in Wordpress 2.6. It’s great to use but for starters who’ve used to the old caption-less photos in WP2.5 and below, it might takes some time for adjustments. The captions might be buggy and break HTML in the WYSIWYG editor, so usually I’ll do it in HTML view, just for you to know.

I’m the photographer so I’ll have to live up to the fate that we actually get excluded from photos. Anyway, I’m camera shy, so even if people want to take photos with me, I’ll rarely post them :) haha!

That’s the fate of the photographer, but I don’t mind that since I’m a camera shy person, heh. The food on campus is definitely good, and we have so many canteens around I have not actually tried every single one of them yet  here’s some serviettes in case you salivate all over your keyboard again!

My cousin told me she dream to go to NUS (another university in Singapore) because the food there is better. LOL!
