Haha, cigarette ashes definitely don’t taste good but well, at least you know how it tastes now! Teehee. I once ate sand before (when I fell into the sandpit) and I remembered the grinding sound the sand makes. To make it worse, I’ve seen stray dogs and cats taking dumps in the sandpit. Ooooof!

Isn’t it common for people to fall asleep after a heavy meal? :P I get instantly sleepy after a meal, not to mention a sumptous one. That’s why I fall asleep throughout the journey back home everytime I return from a buffet or an awesome dinner, I just couldn’t keep the sleep bug away! There’s a biological reason to it though – after a heavy meal, your body directs bloodflow to your tummy where the food digestion and absoprtion takes place, so your brain is starved of nutrients and oxygen, which kicks one into ‘Sleep’ mode.

Some roaches can fly… and fly high! I’m not particularly afraid of roaches (I stomped on them when I was a kid, although mom protested mightily after she found ooze on the kitchen floor), but the randomness and unpredictability that come with their ability to fly scares me. You never knew where they’ll be heading towards too, so I’d flee if I see one!

Yes, you got me. I intentionally turned the printer on in a desperate bid to get it out. I didn’t know it got wedged in there and so, it got mutilated pretty badly. I would love to empathize with the roach but I pity myself more for being forced to clean the whole mess that stupid creature made.

I play Sims 2 for the same reason too! In fact, I’ve almost filled up the entire neighbourhood with my buildings and there isn’t enough families to go around haha! I play it on my roomie’s computer though, so I don’t get to see it for 3 months until next year. I might be getting a copy for my laptop since my new lappie finally has the specs to run the new game. My dad is an architect and my mom was an ex-interior designer, so yea I had dreams to follow either one of their career paths in the future. I loved making doll houses back then (in the midst of being teased by friends for being girl-like) and also to play Lego bricks. I knew exactly what I wanted each time I played – whether I needed a townhouse, a bungalow, an office building and etc. It just saddens me that at the end of the day, I have to take it apart and store the bricks away before I head to bed. My parents made sure that I don’t create a big mess out of the house :P hehe!

I’m glad that the interview went well! Do share with us the good news when you get the job! You’ve definitely nailed it!

I suppose most of us do get sleepy.. although it seems as though you may have less control over your state then most. :P Hehe.

GAH! Roaches that fly? That’s terrifying, I don’t think I have ever seen those before, thankfully. I hate most bugs that fly.. well at least the ones that insist to fly around your head/mouth. I just recently got a house plant so there has been a few teeny tiny flying bugs around that have been trying me nuts!

Oh man. I am sorry but your roach story made me laugh. That’s terrible! Must the vision it instilled in me was soo funny. :P I don’t blame you though, I would have been frantic if that happened to me. And the mess.. eek! That’s horrible. I must ask though, did you intentionally turn the printer on? :P

I currently have Sims 2 and I use it pretty much for the same reason. I haven’t played in awhile.. but I would have so much fun building and decorating the homes. When I was really young I wanted to be a construction worker, haha. That was before I heard of architecture. :P Then I grew into a young woman who would much rather decorate than build, hehe. I think there’s a Sims 3 coming out soon, I wonder how that would be..

Oh and thank you! Hopefully I’ll hear back from them soon. I’m trying not to get my hopes too high! But I can’t keep from being excited. –Oh, I forgot to mention the interview in my recent blog like I intended to. It went REALLY well! We basically talked about books the entire time. :) I think I nailed it.

The last paper wasn’t easy, but I choose to take it easy and not get all panicky before the paper because I know it’s the last paper of my first year. I don’t want to have a tragic ending where I start to foam up in my mouth haha! I just want to get it done with, get the hell out of there, pack my stuff and head home to enjoy my holidays.

ION Orchard is not slated to open until next year I think – they’ve got this 200+m condominium to build and looks like they’re not even halfway through yet, although the mall is almost done except for the facade. However, the media facade is already ready, as well as the jumping neon lights in the Exit E (the one facing Orchard Road) of the MRT Station.

I’ve never seen Illuma at night! I’ve gotta head to Bugis someday to visit the complex, especially after you’ve blogged about it. Sounds pretty nice, and I might be able to grab some good food over there.

Regarding my friends, I’m just too glad and honoured to have them. They’re super nice people and very great to hang out with! More importantly, they listen to you. Not like other superficial friends who only care what they see on the surface.

I don’t have the habit to eat popcorns during the movies too! That’s because when I get too full, I’ll fall asleep. Hah! And I often pay more attention to food than the movie itself if there’s a popcorn or nachos around. So at most what I’ll bring in is a huge cup of coke, heh! Oooof, the ash tray thing is too funny! At least you know how cigarette ashes taste like, heheh. I bet it wasn’t pleasant :/

Owww, roaches! I never liked them, and I have this fear of those that can fly which I’m yet to overcome. I probably haven’t tell anyone about this too – when I was studying for my exams back in college, a flying cockroach flew right into me, bumped on my neck and fell into my shirt. It started this wild flight inside because it couldn’t get out… and that was one of the most horrible feeling I’ve ever felt. In the end it got out, hid in the printer’s catridge and when I turned the printer on, the moving catridge killed the roach and left me a big mess to clean up.

I play Sims for the construction part and less for the playing part. For some reason I see it as an interior decoration programme and I love to build my houses ground up and decorate the house myself. Then I moved on the Sims 2, which offers more flexibility in construction and more furnitures as well. It even comes with an auto-roof thing where you can create fancy roofs for your houses.

I personally admire you for not bragging about being the only guy in your group. And I am so glad to know that you and your friends are more like a family, that’s so wonderful.. and very very hard to come by!

Even popcorn while watching a movie. If I can’t see it, I won’t eat it. I think this is probably because of a few incidents when I was growing up.. I remember once I was sitting at the kitchen table and reached over in mid-conversation to get my cup, sipped it.. just to find out it was cigarette ashes. My silly grandmother had lost her ash tray so instead used a nearby cup. Gah! Was disgusting..

And, well this is pretty personal and I have no shared this with many people before. But I grew up pretty poor. Mother showered us with cute clothes and plenty of toys yet our house was in pretty bad shape. Was old and run down. From the old age of it and the location of where we lived, we had quite a bit of roaches coming over. And I remember one day I was eating a bowl of cereal and just as I was about to put the spoon in my mouth, I noticed a bug sitting carelessly on my spoon. SO, ever since then.. I keep a close eye on what I put into my mouth, haha.

I find it so funny yet odd that we share the same ideas of a dream home! I too wouldn’t mind it near the sea or on top of a hill (with loads of trees!) I am such a fan of trees. hehe If I could have one growing through my wooden home, I would be in heaven. Seriously, doesn’t that sound so lovely?

Oh my! 95-100F? Yikes. It’s in the 70-80s here. And that’s pretty hot for us, haha. In the summer it does get up in the high 90s though. We are constantly in the pool or under the shade. :P I do love the warmth though, on most days!

I moved into this apartment complex during the fall of last year so I have yet to use our local pool. I look forward to it, but I’m like you.. only when there’s not many people there. Which I’m sure will be never. It doesn’t open up until the kids are out of school.. so looks like I won’t be joining the pool too often. Boo. I am lucky to have an aunt who has a nice pool of her own though! We’re over their quite a bit, but I’m even self-conscious around family.

We have a gym as well.. I use to go pretty often but since Chris has been busy with school, I have stopped going as much. I hate going over there alone.. it’s creepy being in that small room with so many guys.. nothing pisses me off more than a guy who can’t control their eyes. :| It’s downgrading and so impolite.

I do hope you find your lens cap or at least find a replacement. I can imagine how difficult that could be though. I am going to take your advice and try and find a second hand one, it’s going to be one of my first purchases (after bills of course, bleh) that I buy myself once I get that darn job @ the bookstore. :D

Haha, I’d love to think that I’m the lucky guy who get assimilated into a group of girls, but of course, I don’t tell the whole world about it. I resent it when guys know a group of girls and then start bragging to the whole world that they know hot chicks or babes… that’s so jock-like. There’s this special chemistry between us, and all of us love food and frown upon hearing exams and quizzes. We know how to care for each other and have unique roles to play in the group – it’s more like a family that we have over here. I have guy friends too, but in school, I’m closest to them.

Low lit restaurants are romantic places to eat, definitely! But of course, not too dark such that you can’t see what you’re eating. It’s a little too dark inside for the restaurant at first because we arrived around eraly evening (which means it’s still very bright outside), but soon I got accustomed to the atmosphere inside and grown to love the lighting and their use of oil lamps.

The song… I love it! I always imagine myself listening to my favourite song on a warm but breezy Sunday afternoon, lazing on a couch at the verandah and loving the scenery outside. For that, my dream house will be either at the top of a small hill or near the sea, teehee!

It gets really warm out here, hitting 35~38 degrees Celcius (95~100.4 Farenheit) at really warm and sunny afternoons… I guess it’s a lot warmer than the Spring weather over there, right? My cousin just returned from Canada where afternoon temperature lingers around 10 degrees Celcius (50F), and told me she’s already melting under the Malaysian weather, haha!

My favourite summer activities will be going for a swim, preferably on weekday afternoons where the pool is almost empty (everyone is either at work or school). Sometimes I do use the gym and I’m just too happy that it’s empty too (I’m quite self-conscious and more importantly, scrawy. I wouldn’t want to see some muscular hunk beside be working on 200lbs bench press haha). I use the gym to stay healthy and not to bulk up… which is slightly different from the reasons why others visit the gym.

Speaking of my KM 50mm f/1.7 lens, I just lost the lens cap a few days ago and is still trying to find a shop that sells one. I searched for it today and the shop I went only had larger caps (mine is 49mm in diameter). Maybe I should try my luck another time. For the lens, I recommend getting a second hand one as they’re cheaper and quite readily available for sale. I bought mine from another person in Singapore too. It’s hard to find the lens out in shops anymore because I heard KM has discontinued the production line already.
