med: Hmmm you and your sister both recommended the same author... it must be good then :) heh. Thanks anyway!

Grace: The Devil Wears Prada movie was awesome, thank God the directed got Anne Hathaway to play Andrea and Meryl Streep, they perked up the movie a lot :) I like how Anne Hathaway looked like when she was acting to be the panicky assisstant in the movie  anyway I've watched She's The Man a year ago, thanks for the recommendation though! It's a hilarious movie, although many critics obviously hated it -.-" and my cousin thinks Channing Tatum looks so damn hawt.

I only saw the movie of The Devil Wears Prada. :D You might like She's the Man-- Amanda Bynes dresses up as his brother and goes to his school so she can prove that girls are as good as or better than guys at soccer.

Check out Grace's last blog post: Monday Linking

thecoffeesnob: Thank you! I really love Totto-chan after my re-reading experience, I really regretted that I've read through it in a rather rushed manner because of academic pressure, geez! Academic pressure really kills the interest of reading, especially of students who've not yet cultivated the habit of reading widely. I do read thrillers, although sometimes the freakier ones give me a whole arm of goosebumps and whole back of raised hairs when reading one of those at night. I'm thinking of exploring the thriller genre soon, thanks for the recommendation!

Marz: I think Chick Lit refers to books that are targeted towards females that are in their late teens and early to mid adulthood. Examples are the many countless romantic novels, The Devil Wears Prada, P.S. I Love You and etc. White Oleander may gain fanbase in the Chick Lit arena, but I guess it belongs to another genre which I'm yet to know. It's definitely fiction, but it's really very gripping and saddening. Have you read it before? For the couple of titles you've mentioned in your comment, I've heard about The Kite Runner and The Lizard Cage, and I've even read a few book reviews on the latter. I'm determined to get them someday! Maybe I should just give chick lit a break, I'm reading way too much of it!

Jane: Thank you, and I'm really glad that if this post has motivated you to pick up the dusty novels and endulge in the amazing world of reading and appreciating novel. It's the same for me over here too - I just discovered my love for reading novels a few months back.

Cing: Thanks for the recommendation!

Ivy: I have not tried reading non-fiction books yet, but the few suggested titles got me interested in finding out more. Blink sounds interesting, maybe I should look it up at the nearest MPH or something :)

alicia: Thanks :D

Melissa: Wow you've read P.S. I Love You? I just spotted it because it was on the best-seller shelves in several bookstores for the past few weeks, so I was tempted to read it, hah! I think the movie was out already, but I'm not sure whether Malaysian cinemas have screened it... the movie featured Gerard Bulter from 300 and Hillary Swank from The Reaping and Million Dollar Baby.

I read at least a book a week in school and I have a strong distaste for fiction, movies and television. So I'm not the best person to recommend a book. (I did like Devil Wears Prada - the Movie).

I love non-fiction. I read a lot of philosophy especially ancient Greek, Renaissance philosophy. If you like an easy read which is non-fiction, I recommend Malcolm Gladwell's "Blink" and Robert B. Cialdini's "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" Both deal with marketing and political ploys but written for the general audience, so it's kinda fun to read.

Check out Ivy's last blog post: Cleaned My Room; Cleaned My State of Mind

Wow.. you made me have the urge to grab back the novels that I have put aside for quite some times. haha...

I am same with the previous YOU that would give up on a novel very soon.

think it's the time for me to catch up reading a bit. :P

I applaud you on the inclusion of "White Oleander". I personally am not a fan of chick lit so I tend to stay away from that. (Um, "White Oleander" would not be considered chick lit.. right? LOL!) I used to be fantasy fiction girl but have dove into the world of general fiction since several years back.

I am gravitated towards titles like "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" (both by Khaled Hosseini), "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman (anything Gaiman, really!) or "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. I really recommend the Hosseini titles. =)

Right now I am reading "The Lizard Cage" by Karen Connelly, which is about a singer imprisoned in Burma. I also have another book on queue called "We Need To Talk About Kevin" by Lionel Shriver. =)

I look forward to reading more comments in this post! Perhaps I could get recommendations myself.. and perhaps -- just perhaps -- even convince myself to give chick lit a try. =P
