Today during Biology lesson my biology teacher, Ms Koe, touched on the topic about abortion. Abortion means the termination of a pregnancy and expulsion of the contents of the uterus. This can occur either by induction or spontaneously (when it is known as a miscarriage).
Ms Koe also showed us the gruesome pictures of aborted foetus (not fully developed babies). We saw body parts of the not fully developed foetus crushed into pieces. The limbs are broken, and in some cases, even their heads! In some pictures we even can’t see which is the blood, which is the crushed foetus. I was stunned after seeing those photos, and I believe the entire class was too.
Last time I thought that abortion is easy. Just get the baby out that that’s all. But it is not the case. The doctor needs to pull the foetus legs out from the cervix (the opening of the uterus that leads to the vagina), and then use a sharp instrument and crush the foetus’ head so that the entire foetus can be removed from the womb. This is murder, let me tell you. Foetus, although they can’t talk, cry and scream yet, they know when the doctor is attempting to remove them from the womb - when the instruments approach the foetus, the foetus would actually respond to it by moving away from it. This is definitely not an involuntary action of the foetus - they know that you’re going to kill them.
If you want to abort the foetus, why did you want to get pregnant first? If you do not want to get pregnant at first, you should have use a wide range of contraceptive methods available these days! Don’t tell me you do not know anything about these stuff. Don’t you do any family planning before anything else happen?
Abortion is unfair to the foetus. It has the right to be born to the world. Just that some people are so ruthless that they wanted to get rid of the baby because to take a load off themselves. Ms Koe told us that some patients even give such an excuse for abortion:
I am going on a long holiday.
How can you go on a long holiday if you’re pregnant. If you’re a going-to-be mother, you have to take the responsibility to take good care of the baby, and not thinking that once the baby is gone, you have no worries. Don’t forget, abortion comes with great medical complications.
After Biology lesson, I’ve told myself that if I become a doctor next time, I will not perform any abortion for my patients. At my perspective, abortion is murder.
Never ever abort a baby. They are human beings too.

Why people insist foetuses are babies baffles me. They’re not. They’re parasitic pre-humans. Thus it’s not murder at all.
A human being is “born” when they’re born. The clue’s in the name. Since “birth” is described as the beginning of something, what exactly is beginning when someone is born if not life? As such before birth noone is truly a “life”.
A foetus has no more right to life than a person who’s brain dead and on life support. In those cases the family can switch the life support off, and all a mother is doing when she says “Get this out of me” is refusing to be the little parasite’s life support.
I speak a lot about abortion and abortion myths on my blog. Feel free to stop by sometime.

Oh, and it’s far more unfair to bring an unwanted life into this world. I know many adopted kids and not one of them was left unscarred by the experience. Living knowing your own mother didn’t want you makes you feel like life is worthless. If you feel that way, you’re better off dead, or rather, never having been alive at all.

What sort of school do you go to that teaches you this sort of propoganda?
I am a mother. I have given birth twice and am raising two children, and let me tell you there is NO tougher job in the world. Period. No one should do it unless they are 100 percent committed to do it.
Unwanted pregnancies happen. No contraception is foolproof. And no one should be forced to bring an unwanted child into this world. That’s what leads to child abuse and infanticide. Or do you only care what happens to those kids BEFORE they were born?
Worry about your own body and stay out of other people’s lives!

Dear God, this is what is wrong with education today. Did your teacher seriously tell you that a foetus moves away from the instruments used to extract it? I’m tempted to think you are just trolling here.
But I’ll bite anyway: Generally speaking abortions are only performed in the first trimester - a period in which the foetus has not even developed any viable organs yet. It’s still just a lump of cells. It doesn’t feel, it doesn’t think and it certainly won’t see those mean, big, shiny tweezers coming.
By all means, when you get pregnant by accident keep the baby. Maintain your self-righteous attitude and live by it. By I agree whole-heartedly with Library Lady: stay the hell out of other people’s lives, you impressionable little twirp.

lax conscience…when something wrong finally feels right because you’ve done it a thousand times or convinced yourself strongly enough to rid yourself of the guilt…don’t frigging have sex if you can’t deal with the responsibility!!!
it’s not a question of whether the foetus is already alive or not, it’s a question of being responsible for the consequences of your actions…if you can’t raise a child it means you’re not mature enought to have sex…just masturbate if you’re in heat…jeez…

Pretty interesting (some harsh) responses, come on guys he’s only a kid.
teddy, I can understand ur reservations on abortion but what you teacher have taught you was rather unidimensional and I personally believe it was conducted in the aim to discourage premarital teen sex through ghastly images and depictions.
Abortion has been a highly debated issue, similar to euthanasia about having the legal choice to end life or potential life. The meaning of “abortion” is relative to different cultural and social mediums.
Sometimes abortion is encouraged if the foetus poses a health threat to the mother or to a distraught impregnated rape victim. In large societies such as in America where unwanted pregnancies are very high and widespread esp among teens and lower income families, non profitable welfare centers are unable to cope with such statistics. To prevent these babies from being subjected to unhealthy living conditions and social ills and in the long run to contain and mantain the nation’s social health and cohesion, abortion is offered for free.
The debate is still unresolved: moral vs social?
PS: Loved this entry teddy, keep up the gd work!

Hi people. Thanks for your comments. Well, this post only tells my readers how I felt abotu abortion, and I didn’t say that those who accidentally got pregnant cannot abort their baby.
Looks like you people are pro-abortion people. Not that I’m against that ,but then if you need somewhere to show off your sarcasm and harshness, please go somewhere else or keep those stuff to yourself.
This is not a forum, but a blog.

I very much agree with Jazz. Abortion is still a very much unresolved debate and a sensitive issue as well. Different people have different views and Teddy is just voicing out his own opinions after what he learnt in school. Those of you who might not agree with him, do not have to reply with such harsh comments. He’s just 15 and with that in mind, his perception on abortion lies within the morality point of view and not the social issues.

Hmmm, at 15, I think Ted is very mature and definitely know what he is saying/doing. Sorry guys, I am pro-life not pro-choice. If you get pregnant, you bear the brunt of your action. A foetus has a heartbeat so that is life, and I dont give a shit what people think but aborting is murder. 9months down the road, that clot of blood will form itself and looks pretty much like the murderer or her partner, so there.
But seriously Teddy, I dont know why your post cause so much harsh comments by some of these people. Do you suppose it’s GUILT???

I think you are a great person to stand up for your beliefs, and I agree with you 100%.
I am amazed at the links these people will go with their arguments.
I believe that life begins at conception.
If a fetus is not alive, how does it grow?
Anyway, good blog. i’ll be back.
