That is quite some experience huh? Things are different here, people are much more friendly on the road, with the L sign in your car, you're basically the king, hehe, everyone gives way. =)

I took quite a long time to pass my test (yes, last week, haha) and I am glad that I don't need to fiddle around with manual cars anymore, wee! =D

Good luck dude! =D

@thecoffeesnob: Oh yes, that's the word! Gung ho :razz: anyway thanks! I hope I'll get the hang of it after a few more hours of practise.

@Michelle: My car stalls everytime I reach a junction because I brake so hard that the car comes to a complete stop and I forgot to revert to the first gear.

@Aisyah: Manual is very, very troublesome indeed. But I guess changing gears will make driving less boring! I told my mom that I would want to get a manual car next time and she told me that rarely any car nowadays are manual. Hmmm. Yea the stick shift needs a lot of attention from me! I can't stop looking at it when I was changing gears but my instructor pressed her fingers on my cheeck to stop me from looking, haha! Expressway was insane, but for that day the usually impatient drivers are exceptionally kind to my slow car. I'm about a month away from getting my real license!

I remember mine. the horror. at first, everyone is going to hate manual. but after a while of getting used to it, you might like that stick shift. I personally like stick shift better than an auto but I dont have a manual at home. ah, never mind. stick shift requires more focus then an auto, especially for new drivers.

like you, my driving instructor told me to drive in the expressway in the first 15minutes of the class! I was chocked a little but I was fine with it. he said that I was a very quick learner. hehe. well, I've drove an auto, a few times before that. I was so eager to get my driving license and be freee! LOL.

Agreed! I've roughly Googled for the road's name and OMG the traffic there is so congested! That is definitely suicide for first time drivers! :shock:

@jason:
I'm wondering what's the age limit over there for driving? It's currently 17 in Malaysia, but I've heard that the government is pushing it a little higher to 21 in the near future. I wasn't actually looking forward to driving:
1. Mom will treat me as her enslaved driver
2. My brother will soon follow my mom's footsteps
3. Dad will complain that I'm too slow when I drive
4. I'll be another of the billions of sinful carbon dioxide emitters around the world!!!

that's definitely different from here. I'm still waiting for my birthday's arrival. Haha. but well, maybe people there are eager to drive, so as you drive on the expressway, you earn much more confidence and experience? Haha.

But all the same, learning to drive should be cool. But well, they say, a few years into driving and it'll be a drag. So enjoy it while you can.

And as for her cranky car. Well, uhh, leg muscles? Haha. No solution. But definitely lots of problems.

Check out jason's last blog post: Secret Dreams
