Release Your Inhibitions!

Release your inhibitions! - Taken from the lyrics of the song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield, this photo aims to portray the relinquishing of control when you arrive at the highest point of the swing :) of course, that means grabbing to the chains with your life since releasing your hands will mean a nasty fall into oblivion.

Title: Unwritten (album: Unwritten)
By: Natasha Bedingfield

If the chorus of this song sounds extreme familiar to you (especially at the ‘Feel the rain on your skin‘ part), you have the reason to be so - it’s used in Pantene’s (a hair shampoo brand) advertisement since years ago!

*Notes: Adjustments include slightly altering the hue of the grass in the foreground (it was too yellow for my taste - looks as if it’s dying), pumping the saturation, colour dodging shadows and a little cropping.

I’m back!

So I’m back from my two-week vacation in Penang! It’s surprising to me how much my laptop means to me (well, I didn’t bring it along) - life’s like hell without all my Firefox bookmarks, my photo archives, Photoshop, Filezilla and the long list of saved passwords. I regretted my decision of not bringing my laptop immediately after arriving in Penang. I have a few exciting things coming up for the next few updates, so stay tuned! :mrgreen: so for now, I wish everyone a great week ahead! Let’s ward off Monday blues together!

    Thanks :) well I’m glad that we both need laptops badly… my laptop is like an essential part of me. Of course, not to forget the Internet! :razz:

    Beautiful shot! You captivated what this picture expresses and explains. Your two week vacation sounds so fun! Seems like you’re able to go on more vacations than I do!! Lol

    I know that song is greatly known, and some good things in the lyrics, but man… I just simply cannot stand listening to that song anymore but it still does wonders!!

    Ach, I don’t think I can ever go on vacation without my laptop!! I would actually need it in order to log into work as well… so that’s one of the good part about having a laptop. I just need to get all my adobe apps on here now. :roll:

    Thank you! :mrgreen: anyway, the vacation is the last one for me before I head over to university… how sad! When I played the song on my computer, my friends will start screaming “That’s the Pantene song!!!” but they couldn’t tell me the title or the artiste behind it :) Pantene made the ‘Feel the rain on your skin’ phrase famous, but not Natasha Bedingfield :razz:
    I brought my laptop along with me for most vacations. In fact the Penang vacation was supposed to last only a week and since my brother needed mine, I left it at home. Who knows it was extended for another week :D it’s a good thing and a bad thing.

    I could live with Adobe apps too! Plus Mozilla Firefox.

    Nice shot! I love how the people are shadowed, so you don’t see anything they’re wearing; it gives a nice vibe. Maybe you should take the car out. Kind of changes the mood, I think. :) Hope you had fun in Penang! Any photos to share? (You usually have tons of great photos!) Have a nice Monday!

    Yea I purposely shot against the sun to create a silhouette effect, but I forgot to turn off the dynamic range optimiser, that’s why the shadows are still pretty clear. The car is indeed irritating! I’ve tried photoshopping it out but to no avail, geez! Have a great Monday too, Grace!

    I’ll be posting some photos from Penang soon :) heheh!

    Ooh swings! The house i grew up in had a playground nearby and my dad used to push me on the swing. I remember being afraid that the swing might loop over top rail when it got really high.

    I hope your trip to Penang was good fun, technology withdrawal effects aside :)

    @thecoffeesnob
    Yea same here! My childhood memories of swings are always tied to my dad pushing me from behind. And I still remembered me fighting with my brother for dad’s attention because we needed some pushing! It wasn’t really withdrawing away from the Internet (well, over in Penang I spent average 3 hours a day on Plurk!), but I really find it hard to live without my laptop, heheh.

    @NoktahHitam
    That stupid car in the background ruined the photo! :twisted:
