After a few weeks of hard work, here’s the finalised version of the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Icon Pack! They basically contain the icons for almost every applications that came bundled with Adobe Creative Suite 3.
Did it just came out of the blue?
The answer is, no. I was browsing through the web doing some digging on Photoshop and Dreamweaver icons when I stumbled upon this excellent tutorial on Tutorialfx.com. The tutorial teaches you how to make use of the inner glow and the border effects to create icons that mimic the style of the official icons.
The icons are made using Axialis IconWorkshop, and are converted to various formats using the same programme as well. For details regarding the formats, please refer to the section below.
What comes bundled in this pack?
The icons for the following Adobe CS3 applications are included in this pack. In alphabetical order, we have icons for:
- Acrobat Reader
- Bridge
- Dreamweaver
- Flash
- Illustrator
- In Design
- Photoshop
- Stock Photos
These are the major applications in the CS3 so that’s what I’ve created icons for them. The colours of my icons are directly sampled from the original icons so they should appear more or less the same as the original icons, except for the glossy Web2.0 style added to the icons in this pack.
There are a total of 48 files in the icon pack, exclusive of the Readme.txt file. There are two styles for the icons - those with rounded corners and those that are square. File types are described as follow:
1) .ICO extension (Windows).
- 32*32px - XP
- 48*48px - XP
- 256*256px - XP + Windows Vista (embedded PNG compression)
2) .ICNS extension (Macintosh)
- 32*32px - RGB/Alpha
- 48*48px - RGB/Alpha
- 128*128px - RGB/Alpha
- 256*256px - RGB/Alpha
3) .PNG image format - 256*256px only. The purpose of the inclusion of PNG files is to allow the icons to be used for other purposes besides replacing icons of the Adobe CS3 programmes - you can use it for webdesign purposes and etc.
Here is a rough and brief description of the style of a typical icon in this pack:

Thanks NH! Hmmm well making the Windows Icon Pack is a daunting task for a newbie like me - considering that I’m not into graphic illustration but more of webdesign and maybe a little bit of a photoshop wannabe, teehee!
Nice pack! But… CS3 is sooo last year. CS4 is the next thing, baby! Coming out this month (or early next month).

Yea I am aware that CS4 is coming out soon - I couldn’t wait for it’s release! The Adobe Icon pack started off as just a small project to try my photoshop skills but since I’ve done a set of them, I have no qualms releasing them over here.
Why not making other icon for the web related technology, like CSS, XHTML, Javascript, PHP and alike?
Thanks for the good work

Actually when I create my Wordpress theme I’ve always wanted to create icons for web technology like those, however they have no common icons related to them and I guess just spelling out their names are the best way to get people informed
heh.
Thanks for your compliments!
