I guess that just makes her death more tragic, to die at such a wrong timing. But I guess it's true, that when someone dies at the happiest times, he/she get's somewhat compensated, to have eternal bliss and blithe.

RIP Hazel :'(

Hey Mingyun, sorry to hear about the passing of your friend in the dragonboat incident. It was quite a highly publicised accident because of the gravity of the loss. It's human nature to be sad over the passing of a person, even when he/she is not very close to the deceased. We are social beings afterall, and we have dreams and feelings. It just comes naturally.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of such a great talent... and many more in the incident. I agree with you that they died with dignity, doing something that they were proud of and took pride in.

Speaking of dying happily, I read about it on one of Jaslyn's post :) go there and share your views too if you have time. I just shared mine heh.

Actually I'm a free-thinker, but I do believe in the existence of a divine being whom I refer to as He. The story is so tragic I couldn't stop myself from crying when I first heard of it... I'm quite emotional I guess.

Death is unavoidable - I have to agree with you on that. It's just sad that Hazel's passing came at the very wrong time. I hope she's okay up there... and I hope she can hear all our best wishes to her. Take care Hazel!

I believe in fate. Not as in everything is destined or pre-determined, but more like if something is bound to happen, you just can't run away from it.

Same here... her last plurk made her death even more tragic. And the infinite karma just reminds me of all the sadness behind one's passing. But one thing, Hazel will be remembered for sure. So do her online presence on Plurk.

This entry reminds of someone whom I 'somewhat' knew, he was one of the unfortunate ones who drowned in the dragonboat incident in Cambodia. Merely an acquaintance to me, but after his demise, everybody were so sad about it that tears were uncontrollable.

He was one very talented guy. Imagine a person who picked up piano without going through lessons, but was able to play like a pro (he composed some songs for some games which I'm not sure which...).

Imagine an avid canoeist and national paddler. He was one person who many of us in the dragonboat arena looked up to. Although I wasn't physically there to witness the tragedy, but I took part in the tribute for the 5 guys. Totally depressing!!

Sometimes people ask if me how I felt about the sport after this incident, I could only reply, these guys ought to be proud of themselves because they died doing something they love. And I believe that's what everyone of us wish, that when we leave the world, we left with happiness. Uh! Don't take it too literally, I mean, obviously they weren't happy drowning -_- Haha! Morbid.

Those who heard my answer before you gave me the "O.O" face immediately after I said that they left with happiness. How could humans be so literal huh!?

Anyways! Just my two cents about dying happily.

Mind my French, but holy sh*t. That story is mindblowing to say the least. I'm not going to go into my religious beliefs (we'll just say they differ from yours), but, wow.

oh my... this post really touched me. yeah, death can be sudden. to my belief, death is something definite, and it's a fate. only WE don't know when. she sounded like a very cheerful girl. god loves her better.

My heart sank when I read about her tragic story. Even more when I saw her last plurk!

That infinite Karma Plurk added saddens me when reminded of her fate. Sigh.

RIP Hazel.
