Ken leee, tulibu dibu douchoo 9

  Humour.

You’re a genius if you can figure out what this title means :) anyway, thanks to SilverIsle for sharing the phenomenal YouTube video, my eyeballs nearly fell out from that intense laughter than took me over as I watched her YouTube plug. I didn’t realise Ken Lee is one of the most watched videos for the past month, I feel so outdated!

Here you go, Ken Lee!

In case you’re craving for background information, the lady who sang Ken Lee (who insisted that she sang in English and the song is Ken Lee instead of Without You by Mariah Carey) is Valentina Hasan (Bulgarian: Валентина Хасан), a contestant auditioning for the Bulgarian show Music Idol in February 2008. The simple reason for the funny way she sang it:

Hasan explained to the Bulgarian media that she actually used to listen to the song “when she was 15,” using a cassette recorder, and “sang it the way she felt it.”

I’m not being rude, but I really had a good laugh.

@Id: Wow your dad surfes YouTube?! Cool  my dad plays facebook and he’s sending me MILLIONS of invitations everyday.

@Ivy: OMG I feel so outdated! I just knew of this video 2 days back, and you’ve watched it ages ago *hides face in blankie* hah. Anyway I find the part where Mariah Carey’s video transitions to the original footage when Valentina shouted “Ken lee~!” particularly funny!

@Nonnie: Haha! You leave the snazziest comments

@LogicYuan: I can’t stop poking fun of her pronounciation and kept repeating it to my brother. He was irritated as well!

@Brandy: Hell yea it was amusing! And they’ve even reinvited Valentina to sing her signature song on another episode of Music Idol.

@Aisyah: Yea I’m impressed by her confidence - look at her straight face when she sang the ‘original’ lyrics of the song. And now look at the face of the judge when she sang ‘tulibu dubi douchoo’… wow she’s really serious about it!

@hp84: For most of the songs I don’t really care about the lyrics - I just hum out the tune when I feel like it. But if it’s really my cup of tea, I’ll definitely google for its lyrics :)
