Saturday 8

  Me, Myself & I, Photography.

I decided to give myself a little bit of spiritual nourishment today. Actually I don’t quite understand the term itself, but I think it means something like soul-searching? Sometimes I crave for loneliness because it is just so calming  but I did had a really nice afternoon today.

The first thing I wanted to do when I got this week’s pocket money is to savour Island Creamery’s ice-cream - Brandied Cherry is my favourite! I love that lingering taste of alcohol (I don’t think they really put alcohol in it - they just make it taste like alcohol) in my mouth as the ice-cream melts in my mouth. Mmmmmph, yummy! Sensation. Of course I brought along the book titled “The Notebook” by Nicholas Sparks. I finished it today mornning, but I would want to read the nice parts again :) haha.

And here is the closeup of the ice-cream. I ordered double-scoop and the sweet young lady asked me what flavour I wanted. I said I wanted both scoops in brandied cherry and she was like, “Woah!”. And she said since I love brandied cherry so much she decided to give me 2.5 scoops! She’s so nice! Thank you!

And here is a photo I’ve taken on my way back. I’ve got the inspiration to take this photo after reading one of Dakota’s post on his endeavour in photography. I love his photos! They’re meaningful, jam-packed with colours and lovely. Two thumbs up for him! Anyway the original is too large to show here, so I’ve linked the thumbnial below to the original image - you can view the original one in the lightbox! Here is my inferior version:

Did you have a great saturday too?

[Edit]: I’ve watched the Korean movie 200 Pounds of Beauty lately, and I’ve fallen in love with a song the actress Kim A-Joong sang in the movie. The song is called Maria:

It’s a really nice song isn’t it? Anyway here is a link to the MP3 file of the song Maria (right click to save it), kindly hosted by another fan of the song ;) But please do the host a favour - do not hotlink the file because I think it’ll eat up a lot of her bandwidth. Thank you!

i’ve never tried or even heard of that flavour before!! But i’m dead sure it’s very tasty judging by the photo you took. The closeup of the ice-cream, half melting, and everything, it’s like i can feel it in my mouth like that. That book sounds familiar. hmm..

hmmm… i’m a bit stupid on ice creams. i like ben n jerry’s though, i’ve never went to the store.

i don’t really like alcohol though. i still like chocolatey flavours. the very thick choc. not sweet ones. belgian choc was not bad. though i forgot what store i bought it from.

my saturday (in the afternoon) was spent in a very nice way. i can’t talk much without being said to be boasting. it was really tiring, but well, the best part of it was getting 500 dollars. =p heehee.

denise: I love this flavour a lot! Not because it got that alcohol taste but because of the sweet and lovely taste of the cherries! Haha! ;) Anyway Island Creamery do sell ice-cream in buckets! Small ones though. S$8 each, but it’s worth the price if you’re a die-hard ice-cream fan who wants to enjoy their ice-cream at the comfort of your own home :D LOL!

Melissa: I think you have not heard of this flavour because it is invented by the ice-cream parlour itself… perhaps. Yea brandied cherry is one of the best flavour I’ve ever tried so far! Well I prefer it to be frozen instead of half-melting because it tastes pretty weird after melting. But half-melting doesn’t sound bad  hehe!

Nonnie: Next time you come to Singapore I’ll bring you there and try! Or maybe you can ask people around you whether they know any famous ice-cream parlours in Brunei :) haha!

jason: I’ve never tried Ben & Jerry’s, but my classmates say that the ice-creams they serve are pretty awesome too! I shall give it a try someday! For the belgian choclate flavour, I think you tried it at Venezia because as far as I know they do serve this flavour! I love this flavour too! Everytime when I drop my Venezia I will order 2 scoops - leman and belgian chocolate because they taste really great together! Congrats for getting 500 dollars! Haha! Good for you ;)
