That's a really good motivational factor :P reminds me of this Doraemon comic where Doraemon was forced to create a 3D impression of Nobita's teacher to make him do his homework and stop him from sleeping haha! Yea, a cute term invented by people to describe offices with vast amount of spaces taken up by cubicles. I find them rather boring :/

Yup, I worked in an open concept office in the past. My job doesn't allows me to be connected to the Internet due to confidentially issues. Plus, I sit right beside the assistant director and my boss was seated 5 metres behind me. That was a good reason for me to be hardworking. :P Hahaha! Cube farm? LOL!

If someone would throw me into a cube farm I'd die inside :/ I can't imagine being virtually chained to the desk at all times except during lunch, coffee and toilet breaks. I feel that because it's an open concept, people will be more aware of who is around then. There is pressure to work harder as they know that others are looking at them. Many firms are trying to adopt the open office concept, but it's not an easy process though. Perhaps the big shots are worried that if they'd change to open concept everyone will instantly turn lazy and casual :P Claudia's office looks comfy, and it has an open concept too - no cubicles, two comfortable couches and lots of snacks :D Actually there are a few offices in Singapore with that concept already, I believe. One big bad thing about cube farms is that every worker is simply confined to the small space in each office cubes, while the big shots get their own rooms with lovely window views. I guess your workplace isn't half bad too! You don't get the chance to comb through books and interact with customers if you're working in an office. Definitely! In my country, majority of the offices are either cube farms contained in concrete buildings or in run down, shoddy converted container boxes :( Who says that you have to study computer sciences to get in? I wish the offices in Singapore will start "upgrading" themselves. Most are cramp with very little space and too office like.
