@Aisyah:
Thank you! What makes you think I'm using the dSLR? The photos aren't actually very sharp and is riddled with noise :( my lousy camera. Anyway if I get my dSLR next time I might as well be really hanging it around my neck as I ride my bike! Lol.

Well I was just in the mood to take photos so nothing can really stop me (okay, besides parental restraint, that is). The weather was hot but I was cycling in the neighbourhood so there's quite a lot of trees to let me hide from the sun :) and the prospect of getting nice photos kept me going as well, heh :razz:

oh, Teddy. I lOVE the pictures. they are lovely, lovely pictures. What camera did you use?

oh, I read your comment above. and honestly, I thought you were using a digital slr. LOL. It's kinda funny trying to imagine a guy riding a bike with a dslr hangging around his neck. haha.

anyway, Teddy, how did you manage to have a bike trip under the hot sun? I would have fainted in the first half and hour. LOL. not literally, though. I'm a tough cookie. hehe. I'm amazed that you can stand the heat.

Check out Aisyah's last blog post: An impossible mission

@Melissa: Wow your mom is beside you when you're reading this? Cool! I've never ever let my parents have the slightest idea of what I'm doing online. I just keep it kinda under-the-covers from them. I don't like prying eyes and parental pressures - I wouldn't want them to dictate which websites should I visit, which blogs should I read and etc. Anyway it's sad that John Denver died in an unfortunate plane crash. I heard it's something to do with the modification to the plane prior to his purchase.

I'm fine to talk about their passing - I actually see death as a way to end their misery. It's actually a lot of pain to go through when you have chemo, your hair falls off everytime you comb it (or even when you just tug at them lightly) and your appetite is literally reduced to nothing with frequent bouts of nausea. They couldn't sleep well also - the pain is hurting them so much, their failing body is acting like a prison to their soul...

I wasn't actually cycling anywhere near the major throughfares - I use the sliproads and small allleys to make my way around the neighbourhood because I'm pretty afraid of getting knocked over by careless and irresponsible drivers.

My home is about 20km away from the nearest shoreline (the last time I've checked using Google Earth, the precise distance is around 25.8km).

@Id: I asked my parents about John Denver the other day and they've virtually no idea who he is. Well dad remembered his as the guy who sang a famous song (and I figured it out to be Take Me Home, Country Road after he hummed the tune). It's really sad to see him leave us in 1997 because of a fatal plane crash.

@Henbima: Thank you! Nah my camera isn't the really upper-end kind. It's a simple consumer-grade point-and-shoot camera (Pentax Optio S55). My parents bought it for me under MYR500 3 years back. I usually shoot in a relatively high resolution (somewhere around 2048*1536 or above) so that when I shirnk the photos down to be displayed on web (which is around 600*450 for landscape photos), the features will stay sharp.

wow i love that song, when i played it, my mum was singing along hahaha and that surely made me happy. I dont know why but it makes me happy when my mother sings. But sadly, i was told that John Denver died in a plane crash when he drove the plane himself. :sad:

I'm sorry about your cousin and another close friend's death, but somehow it's good that their suffering ender. I've been watching hk dramas lately and all the characters were getting brain tumour or cancer. Undergoing chemotherapy is purely unbearable as i watch from their facial expressions. I know they're just doing the expressions but i can imagine those real life people undergoing it. :sad:

I must say that you're really brave cycling along the main road, i wouldn't if i were you, cause i can't cycle with one hand hahahaha!! I'm a sucker at cycling, i must concentrate like i'm driving!! :mrgreen: Nice pictures there!! Oh btw, there is a shore 20km away from ur neighbourhood??? I seriously didnt know abt that. :shock:

John Denver was another artist that my parents "indoctrinated" into my music exposure when I was young. I think my mom was especially a fan of his. "Take Me Home.." was a favourite, and I remembered our whole family briefly grieved when he died in 1997.

I also found it interesting to buffer the song while reading through your bike trip. Very appropriate song for your post. =D
