IvanBefore I start…

21st of July is Ivan’s birthday (as well as the release date of the 7th Harry Potter Installment)! So here’s a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Ivan! Haha! Well in case you don’t know who Ivan is… basically he’s one of my best friend, a starplayer (okay only people in my class will understand), a big Lindsay Lohan fan, a guy that is willing to die for a Louis Vuitton bag, a whiny and werid guy (but hey it’s fun to have this kind of people around you when you’re bored and have the urge to get gossipy)… although he may appear to be a cash-flushed rich kid, actually he’s just a normal guy-next-door kinda person at heart :)

He always bully me, so it is really kind of me to wish him Happy Birthday here and not to forget staying up until 12am to send him a birthday sms! Ivan you better be grateful! Haha!

And I would like to thank Ivan because his birthday gave me the perfect excuse to go town this weekend! Before I notice anything I find myself wandering around Vivocity again! Vivocity surely sounds familiar to you if you’ve read my previous trip to Vivocity, but this time I’m on a special mission - to find Ivan his birthday present and to get some nice photos taken  heh. Here is a photo to make you click the read more button for more photos…

Anyway, for your information all photos are clickable - you can click on them to view them in a larger resolution. Again, to prevent you from frantically clicking along, you can actually press ‘N‘ to view the next photo and ‘P‘ to view the previous one.

Let’s go!

For the first time in my life I tried to take photos of people ;) hope they look nice! Although I did attract some strange stares from people, the photos turn out to be magnificent when I look at them yesterday night. Haha!

Shibuya

Not to forget I finally found a present I think Ivan will like at Shibuya Connection! The shop sells really nice stuff that are affordable and yet unique :D yippe. Hope you love the photos :) Be sure you tell me which one is your favourite if you decide to leave a comment. Thanks!

P.S. Well after typing this post I realised that I’m in love with 2 photos - Little Girl and Sky Garden. The girl looks so cute and cuddly while the sky looks really nice in the Sky Garden photo  hehe!

lunaticgal: I’m not very sure, but after a few bad encounters with nasty and bad-tempered security guards I ensure that the coast is clear before I take any photos inside any shop or inside the mall itself. For most shops there is an unspoken rule of no phorography is allowed, perhaps they’re afraid that people will imitate their interior design…

People are so paranoid about taking photos of people nowadays - you usually have to get permission to take photos of children for horrible reasons. :S

Happy Birthday to your friend (glad you found him a present) not the Louis Vuitton bag ;-) right lol

Looking at this entry makes me think “Man I need to get out more ;) lol”

Know what, I think you can rename this collection of your shots to “The butts and backs of Singaporean.”, well.. except for the first cute baby photo lah.

Han: Really? Well actually I didn’t really ask for permission too, unless I want to take the kid really up close. And to avoid being detected and shoo-ed I try to take photos from the back, which partially explains why in most of the photos you see people’s butts instead of their faces  haha! But for the Little Girl photo I looked at the babysitter standing beside the girl before taking a photo and she smiled at me, so I guess that’s a green light for me to go ahead  thanks to her smile I can finally get a nice photo of the girl.

Rei: Nah :D not actually because well Vivocity is really veyr far away from where I live and so I usually poke around Orchard or heartland malls. This is my second time going to Vivocity this year. And oh yes Shibuya sells really nice stuff! So I know where to go when I want to get birthday presents for my friends next time. Hmmm I’ve only been to Bugis once this year to shop for a handphone pouch :) well why did you get followed like a dog over there?

Yunia: Oooh thanks for telling me your favourite photos! And thanks for the birthday wishes as well, he’ll love it! Of course I’m not flushsed with cash so there’s no way I can get him a Louis Vuitton bag… haha!

Nonnie: You’ve got some truth in it! Like what I’ve told Han I try to shoot people from the back so as to avoid the very troublesome “Can I take a photo of you?” question…

well maybe the salesperson thinks i look like someone who would buy alot from his shop, but at the back of his mind however he is just probably preparing himself to catch me in the act of stealing or something. maybe its my face, i look like a shoplifter? -_-”
and your comment at my site, cracked me up. thanks for sharing the experience. would they dare beat the crap outta a girl? i just might send a jinx to them. xp

I love the picture of the little girl! You should try to monochrome that one. It might just turn out really nice!
And it sounds like a lot of your classmates have blogs and read yours! :D

thecoffeesnob: Haha thanks! Yea I think she’s really cute :) I want to give her a cosy bear hug so badly!

Rei: Hmmm your comment made me think of how rude some salespeople are. Sometimes when I go to a shop and I have the interest to buy something they usually ignore me - most probably I look like a kid with no money. And I have the feeling that wherever I go they’ll sort of secretly trail me, as if I’m going to steal something and run away… I guess that’s the feeling you had too when you go shopping sometimes. Anyway yea there are lots of aggressive drivers in my hometown, not like in Singapore where people are more afraid of being caught red-handed as a road-bully. In my place they can just take a knife out and slash your car if you just honk them. OMG.

Grace: Thanks for the compliment and the suggestion! I will try to do it and see how it looks like… but as far as my imagination can go, I think it will look good! Anyway hmmm I am wondering where did you infer from. My classmates do read this blog sometimes but they usually don’t leave any comments unless really necessary
